Social: This is a multi-player game and we are a team-oriented guild. If you prefer to play games mostly ‘solo’ and do not like group activities or helping others then this is not the guild for you. The more you put into MGW the more you will get out. However, we expect contribution in return and do not have room for people whom do not give back to the guild. We are not a guild for loners or players just after a tag or personal glory. We are a guild for team players and mature adults who are helpful, outgoing, and want to tackle difficult content as a team.
Our average age range is approx 25 – 45 with a few above and below that range. We are a mature content guild and we do not recommend that those under 18 apply. This is not to say that we do not make exceptions to that rule but above all we look at maturity and the ability to work as a team.
Casual: We have prior commitments in our lives whose playing times may be fairly random. We do not have “Core” guild hours where members are expected to be on. We are an NA based guild with most players on from 6PM to 12AM Eastern Time. Our end game content raiding schedule allows flexibility of those who work and attend school full time while still allowing us to progress in the game. We are a People First guild and we care much more for the well being of our players and their families over the content in any game.
Dedicated: We strive to be the best we can be and work with our members to elevate them to be at their best. We welcome all skill levels into the guild and focus on player skill progression. We understand and accept our members have different skill caps and we work with all our members to reach or even overcome those skill caps. We follow a continuous improvement process to hone our skills and understanding of the game and its mechanics. This allows us to stay on the cutting edge of GW2 as the game evolves and changes.
Community: The foundation of our guild is built upon a rock-solid, social, close-knit community that extends its bonds beyond the games we play. Games come and go. The relationships and the people behind them do not. This is a core tenant of our guild.
Our community is made up of selfless players whom play the game not only for themselves but for other people too.
The pillars in our guild charter are not just there for eye candy or to make a cool picture. They serve as visual reminders of the traits we value, look for, and foster in our fellow guildies:
Trust – Don’t steal from the guild bank! Don’t use community resources for personal gain. Knows to keep confidentiality. Isn’t going to just use the guild or it’s people or resources. Does not use or cheats or bots.
Respect – Don’t insult people in map or guild chat. Responds to people in guild chat, even if it’s simply yes/no. Understands different player skill ceilings and works around them. Does not belittle people for their skill ceilings.
Responsibility – Holds themselves accountable for own actions. Maturity. Willing to learn content or engagements on their own. Doesn’t expect to be carried through content or engagements. Carries own weight in engagements. Knows class and build and is responsible for own character development and how to best contribute to the team. Uses team-buffing builds, not selfish builds. Knows own skill ceiling and does not expect others to carry them through content to make up for their skill ceiling. Willing to learn, practice and put in the work to increase skills. Are realistic as to what content they can and cannot do based on their skill ceiling and gearing. Does not expect to be a special little snowflake in the guild or be treated any differently than any other member.
Fairness – Level headed, doesn’t become upset when there is a wipe or try to assign blame. Is objective. Treats everyone the same, does not play favorites. Willing to give back to the guild and its members to contribute to what the guild and its members gives to them. Does not leech on the guild or its members.
Caring – Actually CARE about other people. Treat people as people. Shows empathy to guild mates. Is not selfish. Willing to play the game for others, not just for themselves or their own gain. Willing to re-do content or dungeons or fractals where they do not get anything out of it otherwise than to help a guild mate. Does not play the game just for personal gain or self-glory. Looks out for the best interests of others.
Citizenship – We are a guild that gives back to the community, both our own community within the guild and the larger Darkhaven and GW2 community. Looking for stewardship in our members. Willing to volunteer to help others. Willing to participate or volunteer in social events like Pink Day in LA or the MS Walk or any server events. You may not have to do anything, but at least be open to the idea of volunteering or participation, this is a social MMO after all!!
