Greetings Darkhaven and friends near and far! Here’s an overview of what happened in the community last month.
WvW
We hit some T3 opponents in March and, wow, these guys are tough. We’ve had the opportunity to learn from some of the higher ranked servers and we’ve definitely taken it and are looking forward to applying new efforts in April.
Guilds
March was a great month for acquiring new talent. RIVE, CAKE, and Prae all transferred over and wasted no time teaming up, tagging up, and blowing things up. They still have some members straggling back on the servers they came from, but we’ll have them all home in Darkhaven soon enough. For those of you new transferees reading this, be sure to visit the resources page up at the top to join up with DH players elsewhere.
Guilds Page
Also check out the new and improved Guilds page here on the site. Each guild now has its own entry, and the guild leader has authorship privileges to freely edit their guild’s entry. As soon as some of us get the time, we hope to get emails sent out to site-registered guild leaders explaining this new feature. But if you can’t wait, just hit the contact page and get a hold of us.
Contests
Our 400 Gold raffle that had been delayed since December finally wrapped up in March. And, um, I won it. But really – I had purchased the most tickets, so either the gods of Math or RNG were on my side. Yay me!
Community Events
March was a good month for community events, with NUDE leading the way with their popular Naked Night romps with various themes. Another newly transferred guild, COPS, hosted the St. Patrick’s Day Green Gank. Everyone brought out their green gear and believe it or not, we had a commander drink and talk in an Irish accent all night. We all had a great time 🙂 Be sure to check the Darkhaven Calendar for upcoming events, and contact us to list your own event.
Weekly Server Meetings
WvW reset meeting attendance has really picked up, and it helps that we’ve been able to develop a solid agenda each week. These will continue and will be listed on the calendar, and you can read planned agendas and post-meeting notes in the Private WvW Forum.
Teamspeak
We’re very appreciative to Hayden, one of Dragonbrand’s community leaders, for bringing our leadership team over to the DB Teamspeak server for some pointers on how to optimize our own server. Our TS has a new look, some new guidelines, and also a higher client limit. We’re eager to implement more of Hayden’s suggestions, but we’re off to a great start already.
Shared Documents
Our spreadsheet wizards have been diligently designing and organizing user friendly documents to share with the Darkhaven WvW community. These include commander timecards and party planners for reset nights, the developing Darkhaven Library, and much more. Keep an eye on our private WvW Forums and Facebook group to learn more.
Facebook “Page”
Last but not least, we launched a long-awaited and mysteriously-absent >Darkhaven Facebook Page. It’s an easy way to get news and updates without having to sift through several form posts and Facebook discussion groups.
Pages, in Facebook terms, are for companies or organizations or brands to dish out news and content, whereas Groups are specifically for users to discuss topics with one another. We wrote an article about it a few days ago. Please check it out, and stop by the new Darkhaven Page and give us your “Like.”
Coming in April…
tldr; check the calendar.
April is going to be full of NUDE events, including an Attack of the Clones Mesmer Night. *squee!* We’re also looking for ideas on some contests, so give us a shout if you have something fun in mind. April 18th is the annual MS Toga Party hosted by Gamers Giving Back. This is a very worthwhile cause so please check it out and help spread the word. There are links on the Calendar, and the official page is right here.
And hey – it’s just the beginning of April so there will surely be more events to come. Come back often so you don’t miss out, oh and Like that Facebook page!
